Hey, I hope it's alright I made a thread for this, but I don't know where else to put it.
I'm posting this message in multiple places on the internet in hopes someone will know how to help me.
My computer is moving insanely slow except for the internet SOMETIMES. I'm taking a risk even being on the internet because since yesterday my whole computer has been crashing. Well, not exactly, but here's what's been happening:
I edit videos in Sony Vegas and I've desperately been trying to get one done for a tournament I'm in, okay? I've notified the person running it of my issues but that's not gonna help me. I keep all my video files and everything I use to edit videos (except the program itself) on an external hard drive. This is a 2 TB hard drive that is more than half empty. Sometimes my comp won't recognize it but I unplug it from the outlet and the comp and plug it back in and it shows up. Sometimes when I tried to access it, though the whole computer would slow down and windows explorer itself would stop responding. Ctrl+Alt+Delete wouldn't let me stop the processes and THAT would stop responding, too. I've restarted my computer over 15 times in the past 24 hours. The only thing I haven't tried is restoring it but I'm going to do that after I post these messages for help.
Vegas crashes when I try to open files and sometimes the Open folder will be blank and take 10 minutes to load what's inside. On occasion I couldn't even open my Recycle folder to empty it without waiting 15+ minutes for the freaking folder to open.
I don't know what to do. I've tried clearing space on the comp hoping it will run better but I mean I already told you my recycle bin issue. Plus my computer has been as full as it is for weeks and it ran fine before. (Well, Vegas has always had issues, but that's Vegas.)
Also, if it matters, I work on a Macbook Pro and use BOOTCAMP to run Windows. It takes up about 1/7th of my computer's ENTIRE hard drive. As in the other 6/7ths are being put to good use on the other half of my comp. Like I said, I save a lot of space on my Windows side because all of my video clips, effects, and whatever else for video editing (all I use the Windows side for) on that hard drive so I have room for it all. I've tried transferring stuff to the main laptop but it doesn't help.
Can somebody please tell me how I can get my comp running normally again?
